Equality North East, is working with the other equality organisations in the North East to build seven multi-sector regional networks, one for each strand covered by the Equality & Human Rights Commission: - Ethnicity, Disability, Gender, Religion or Belief, Sexual Orientation, Youth and Ageing.
The networks meetings have an employment focus and will bring together people from and representing the 'strands' as well as employers and the public sector. Together we will work to:
- Raise awareness of the barriers to employment and entry to employment
- Tackle discrimination
- Share good practice
- Provide a strong regional voice
VONNE has been a member of the steering group and will continue to be engaged through the Equalities Coalition.
