To introduce the focus of "Empowerment and Engagement", Henry Tam, Head of the Community Empowerment Division of the Department for Communities and Local Government, sets out the Government's thinking around the issue nationally.  This is complimented by articles on Participatory Budgeting, the North East Empowerment Partnership and Local Involvement Networks.

Changes to the Distribution of The Vine 

As you may be aware, VONNE's board has agreed a new structure for VONNE's membership and charges for some services.  As a result VONNE is now charging a subscription to non-members for paper copies of The Vine.  To continue to receive a paper copy of The Vine organisations must either join VONNE, renew their membership or subscribe to The Vine.

Please note that The Vine will continue to be available to download from VONNE's website free of charge.
